Number Of Ingredients 6

36 slices of party rye bread
Thousand Island dressing
1 (12 oz.) can corn beef
1 (16 oz.) can sauerkraut, drained
8 oz. processed Swiss cheese, shredded
Some caraway seed, if desired

Steps:

  • Prepare sauerkraut in thousand island dressing, keep refrigerated. When ready to use, ( If it is too runny) drain some of the liquid. Add Swiss cheese and caraway seed and mix well. Spread each piece of snack rye bread with a little of the thousand island dressing. Break up the corn beef and place on top so the bread is covered. Then cover with shredded Swiss Cheese. Place on a cookie sheet and bake in a 375 degree oven for 6-10 min. or until cheese melts and appetizers are heated. The Reubens can be made ahead of time, placed on the cookie sheet and refrigerated. Heat when you are ready to serve.
