Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 (28 ounce) can original bushes baked beans
1 medium onion
1/2 lb hamburger meat
3 tablespoons ketchup
3 tablespoons frenchs mustard
2 teaspoons brown sugar
2 thick slices Velveeta cheese
Pam cooking spray

Steps:

  • Preheat oven 350 degrees.
  • In a saucepan brown the hamburger meat and the onion. Drain set aside.
  • In a Pam sprayed casserole dish add the beans, ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar mixing well.
  • Add the browned meat mixture to the bean mixture and stir mixing well.
  • Cook beans until throughly hot maybe 15 minutes then add the velveeta cheese on top put back into stove until cheese is melted.
  • Take out and stir.
  • Enjoy!
  • I had to really guess on measurements and cooking times because with this recipe I never measure exact amount. I know that I use way more Velveeta Cheese. I guess you can play with the recipe until you find your personal likings.

These beans were a disappointment. They were bland and mushy. I followed the recipe exactly, but I won't be making them again.

These beans were good, but not great. I found them to be a bit too sweet for my taste. I also think they could have used more seasoning.

I've made these beans several times now and they're always a crowd-pleaser. I like to add a little bit of heat to mine by adding a diced jalapeƱo pepper to the pot. I also like to use a variety of beans, such as black beans, pinto beans, and kidney b

These cowboy beans were a hit at our last potluck! I made them exactly as written and they were perfect. The beans were tender and flavorful, and the sauce was thick and rich. I will definitely be making these again.
