MOM'S CORNBREAD image

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 c. cornmeal
1 c. AP flour
6 Tbs. sugar
1 Tb. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. oil
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
3 eggs

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400. Grease 9"x9" pan. Mix together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Beat together oil, buttermilk and eggs. Gently combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Pour batter into pan and bake for 30 minutes or until top is lightly brown and a tester comes out clean.
