My Favorite Sesame Noodles image

This recipe for sesame noodles is one I've created through trial and error. It combines green onions, peanut butter and sesame oil for a wonderfully complex flavour.

Time 25m

Yield 1

Number Of Ingredients 10

½ (8 ounce) package spaghetti
2 tablespoons peanut butter
1 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoons tamari
1 teaspoon Thai chili sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 clove garlic, minced
1 green onion, chopped
2 teaspoons sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil over high heat. Once the water is boiling, stir in the spaghetti, and return to a boil. Cook the pasta uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the pasta has cooked through, but is still firm to the bite, about 12 minutes. Drain well in a colander set in the sink.
  • Melt the peanut butter in a large microwave-safe glass or ceramic bowl, 15 to 20 seconds (depending on your microwave). Whisk the honey, tamari, and chili sauce into the peanut butter, then stir in the sesame oil and ginger. Mix in the garlic and green onions and toss with the spaghetti. Top with the sesame seeds.

Overall, I thought these noodles were pretty good. They were easy to make and they tasted pretty good. I would definitely make them again, but I might make some changes to the recipe.

This recipe was a bit too complicated for me. I think I'll stick to simpler noodle dishes in the future.

I had some trouble getting the noodles to cook evenly. Some of them were overcooked and some of them were undercooked. I think I'll try cooking them in a different way next time.

These noodles were a bit bland for my taste. I think I would have liked them more if I had added some extra spices or vegetables.

I followed the recipe exactly and my noodles turned out great! The sauce was a little too sweet for my taste, but that's easily fixed by adding less sugar. Overall, I'm really happy with this recipe.
