Number Of Ingredients 6

1/4 teaspoon Demerara sugar
1 orange slice
3 dashes Angostura bitters
2 ounces bourbon or rye
Dash of club soda (optional)
1 Luxardo Marasca cherry or other high-quality macerated cocktail cherry

Steps:

  • Place sugar, orange slice and bitters in an old-fashioned glass. Gently muddle until sugar has absorbed some liquid and resembles a fine paste. Add the bourbon or rye, along with a large ice cube or two, and stir well, about 20 times. Top with just slightest dash of club soda, if desired, and garnish with cherry.
