Open Pit BBQ Sauce image

Copy Cat for Open Pit, can not get here in Florida so we came up with two that we think are close. Will tinker and post any changes we make

Yield 3/4 Quart

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 cups white vinegar
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon finely ground black pepper
1 teaspoon finely ground red pepper
3/4 teaspoon hot sauce (add more or less to your liking)
1 cup Heinz ketchup

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients, except ketchup, in stockpot and bring to boil - cover and reduce heat, stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved. Then add ketchup, stir and remove from heat.
