Happy 100th Birthday Oreo! (1912-2012) This is a very easy dessert. The hardest part is waiting for each layer to chill in the refrigerator.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 pkg oreos
1 stick butter
8 oz cream cheese
2 pkg cool whip (8 oz. size)
1 c powdered sugar
2 pkg instant chocolate pudding (4 serving size)
1 3/4 c whole milk

Steps:

  • 1. Crush Oreo cookies in a food processor. Set aside 1/2 cup cookie crumbs for top of dessert.
  • 2. Melt butter and mix with crushed oreos. Spread in the bottom of a 9 x 13 glass dish or metal pan and press firmly in place. Refrigerate 1 hour. You can also use 2 , 9 inch pie pans. They look really nice in a glass pie pan where you can see the layers.
  • 3. Mix together cream cheese and powdered sugar, then fold in 1 container of Cool Whip. Spread over cookie crust.
  • 4. Mix together milk and 2 packages of pudding. After setting for a few minutes, spread over cream cheese layer and refrigerate 30 minutes.
  • 5. Spread 2nd container of Cool Whip over pudding layer and then sprinkle cookie crumbs, that were previously set aside, over top. Refrigerate until firm.

This was my first time making an Oreo dessert and it turned out great! I was a little worried it would be too sweet, but it was actually just right. The cream cheese filling balances out the sweetness of the Oreos perfectly.
