Number Of Ingredients 6

1 loaf Sourdough Bread
5 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
ground black pepper to taste
1 clove garlic, finely minced
1 tablespoon fresh or 1 tsp dried mixed herbs (Italian Herbs)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Slice the loaf on 1/2 or lengthwise, so you can get at the soft bread inside- do not use the crust. With your fingers, tear away pieces that are approximately 1/2" to 3/4" in diameter. Place them in a large bowl. Whisk the oil, salt, pepper, and garlic together in another bowl. Pour over bread and toss until they are all evenly coated. Spread them on a large baking sheet and place in the oven for 15-20 minutes, stirring them ever 5 minutes, until they are golden brown.

These croutons are awesome! They're so easy to make and they taste great. I've used them in salads, soups, and even as a topping for grilled chicken.

I've tried many croutons recipes before, but this one is by far the best. The croutons are so flavorful and crispy, and they're the perfect addition to any salad.
