I didn't see this one posted.. this meatloaf is AWEsome, i have made it too many times to count, do make sure you don't skip the basting process. I also use the extra sauce( skimmed of fat) and put it over some cooked egg noodles or rice.. YUMM. This also makes a great cold sandwich the next day. On a side note i did saute the onions a bit before adding them, just my personal preference

Time 1h

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 cup fresh breadcrumb
1 onion, diced
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
3 tablespoons vinegar
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup water, to thin sauce if necessary

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Mix together the beef, bread crumbs, onion, egg, salt, pepper, and 1/2 cup of the tomato sauce. Form this mixture into a loaf and place it in a shallow pan. Stir together the remaining tomato sauce, vinegar, sugar, mustard, Worcestershire and the water (if too thick). Pour this sauce over the meatloaf. Bake for 1 hour, basting every 15 minutes with the pan juices.

I love that this recipe uses ground turkey instead of beef. It's a healthier option and it still tastes great.

This recipe is a great way to use up leftover BBQ sauce. I always have a jar of it in my fridge, so this is a go-to recipe for me.

This meatloaf was a bit too bland for my taste. I think it needed more spices.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my meatloaf turned out dry and crumbly. I'm not sure what went wrong.

This meatloaf was just okay. It wasn't as flavorful as I was hoping for, and the BBQ sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste.
