Peanut Butter Crisp Bars image

This recipe was handed down to me by Mrs Pauline Sharp who founded my childhood church.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/2 c sugar
1/2 c light corn syrup
1 c peanut butter, creamy
2 c rice cereal
ICING INGREDIENTS
1/4 c butter
1/4 c brown sugar
1 Tbsp milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 c powdered sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Heat sugar and syrup until sugar dissolves.
  • 2. Blend in peanut butter.
  • 3. Stir in cereal.
  • 4. Pat in 11 X 7 X 2-inch pan.
  • 5. Spread with icing. (directions below)
  • 6. Chill.
  • 7. Icing Directions:
  • 8. Melt butter and brown sugar.
  • 9. Remove from heat.
  • 10. Stir in milk and vanilla.
  • 11. Beat in sifted powdered sugar.
