Pecan Chewies image

Love these bars! I found this recipe on Mommyskitchen.net. Big hit on Thanksgiving! Disclaimer: I have always used recipes as a guide and use my instincts and experience to alter or omit ingredients as I cook. Therefore, it has always been a challenge when sharing recipes with others. I doubt I make dishes the same way...

2 stick butter, melted
1 c sugar
1 c light brown sugar, packed
2 eggs, beaten
2 c self rising flour
1 c pecan pieces
2 tsp vanilla *i use mexican vanilla

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Melt butter, add sugars, and blend well by hand. Add beaten eggs, stir well. Add flour and stir until all lumps are gone. Add pecans and vanilla. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 baking dish. Bake approximately 40 to 50 minutes watch closely so they don't over cook. You want them to remain their chewiness.
