Persimmon Cookies image

these cookies are always anticipated every fall in our house we have a persimmon tree in our front yard and we know when its time for cookies!!

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 c sugar
1 c shortening
1/2 c wild persimmon pulp
1 tsp baking soda
2 1/2 c all purpose flour
2 large eggs
1/2-3/4 c chopped wild hickory nuts (or you can use pecans)

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven 350 degrees Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl, place on a greased cookie sheet in spoonfulls, bake 15 to 20 min dont over bake !! Enjoy!
  • 2. I use a cone shaped colander and wood pestle to remove the pulp from the persimmons.
