Yield 2 Side-dish Servings; Can be doubled

Number Of Ingredients 4

4 ounces (about 2 1/3 cups) wide egg noodles
1 1/2 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup thinly sliced green onions
1 teaspoon poppy seeds

Steps:

  • Cook noodles in medium saucepan of boiling salted water until just tender but still firm to bite. Drain well, reserving 4 tablespoons cooking liquid. Melt butter in same saucepan over medium heat. Add noodles, green onions and poppy seeds. Toss until pasta is well coated, adding reserved pasta cooking liquid by tablespoonfuls to moisten if noodles seem dry. Season noodles to taste with salt and pepper and serve.

I'm not a big fan of poppy seeds, but I thought this dish was still very good.

The poppy seeds and green onions added a lot of flavor to this dish. I also liked the addition of the lemon juice, which gave it a nice tang.

This is a great recipe for a quick and easy weeknight meal. The noodles are cooked in one pot, so there's less cleanup involved. I also like that it's a vegetarian dish, so it's a good option for meatless Mondays.

I was pleasantly surprised by how easy this dish was to make. I had never cooked with poppy seeds before, but they were very easy to work with. The noodles were also very forgiving, so I didn't have to worry about them being overcooked.

These poppy seed noodles were a hit with my family! I followed the recipe exactly and they turned out perfectly. The poppy seeds added a nice crunch and nutty flavor, and the green onions gave it a refreshing brightness.
