Raisin Pie image

This is a pie my mother used to make and I just found her recipe in the cookbook that she put together for our church when I was 9 or 10. Since I don't like raisins, I had forgotten about this, but everyone else sure used to scarf it up! I thought it might be something you all would like to try, especially if you like raisins,...

Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 c raisins
1 c sugar
1 Tbsp flour
3-4 Tbsp butter (mom's notes said the size of a large walnut, so this is a guesstimate)
1 Tbsp vinegar
1 1/2 c water, boiling
pinch of salt
1 unbaked pie crust

Steps:

  • 1. In a bowl, mix sugar and flour; set aside. In a saucepan, pour boiling water over raisins. Add all ingredients and cook for a few minutes, until sugar dissolves and mixture begins to thicken. Pour into uncooked pie crust. Bake at 350 degrees until crust is brown.
