Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 Tbsp cornstarch (more if you want it thicker)
3/4 c cold water
2 Tbsp lemon juice (less if you want it sweeter)
2 Tbsp white vinegar
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c seedless raisins i used golden raisins here, other varieties are just fine too.

Steps:

  • 1. I usually do this the last minute as it cooks super fast and is best hot: Blend cornstarch and water in a sauce pan.
  • 2. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  • 3. Cook, stirring until mixture comes to a boil and thickens.
  • 4. Keep warm over low heat until serving time.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my sauce turned out too sweet. I think I would reduce the amount of brown sugar next time.

I've tried many raisin sauce recipes, but this one is by far the best. The sauce is perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of sweetness and acidity. The raisins add a lovely texture and flavor.
