Rice-A-Roni Meatballs image

I use to beg my grandmother to make these for me. If I could have, I would have eaten them for every meal. Best of all it is only 4 ingredients and super simple!

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 box rice-a-roni, beef flavor
1 egg
1 lb hamburger
2 1/2 c water

Steps:

  • 1. Mix together the rice-a-roni (save the flavor packet for later), egg and hamburger together with your hands. Don't over mix or they will become tough.
  • 2. Scoop out 1/4 - 1/3 cup of the meat mixture and roll into a ball. Place in a skillet over medium-high heat and brown all sides of the meatball.
  • 3. When all sides are browned (middle will still be a little pink), pour the season packet and 2 1/2 cups of water over everything. Bring to a boil, turn down the heat to low, cover and simmer for 30-40 minutes or until most of the liquid has been absorbed.

These meatballs were a bit dry for my taste. I think I would add more sauce next time. But the flavor was good and the rice was cooked perfectly.

I'm not a big fan of Rice-A-Roni, but these meatballs were actually really good. The sauce was flavorful and the rice was cooked perfectly. I would definitely make these again.

These meatballs were so easy to make and they turned out so delicious! I used ground turkey instead of beef and they were still really flavorful. I will definitely be making these again.
