Shrimp Spaghetti image

I got this recipe from my Mom and it is AMAZING! Hope you enjoy it as much as my family does.

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 lb spaghetti
2/3 c vegetable oil
2 medium onions, chopped
1/2 medium green bell pepper, chopped
3 clove garlic, chopped
1/2 tsp sugar
1 can(s) tomato paste
1 can(s) tomato sauce
2 c raw shrimp, peeled & devained
6 c water, boiling
1 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
salt and pepper to taste
parsley flakes for garnish

Steps:

  • 1. In a large pot heat oil and saute onions, bell pepper & garlic until wilted.
  • 2. Add tomato paste, tomato sauce, sugar, pepper flakes salt and pepper. Cook 15-20 minutes.
  • 3. Add shrimp and stir.
  • 4. Add boiling water and uncooked spaghetti to the tomato mixture. Cook for 12 minutes.
  • 5. Turn off heat and let sit for 5 minutes.
  • 6. Serve and enjoy!

This dish was a bit too salty for my taste, but otherwise it was very good. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the sauce was creamy and flavorful. I will definitely be making this again, but I will reduce the amount of salt next time.
