Spicy Shrimp, Mozambique Style image

This is a family favorite here in the Pacheco home. A traditional Portuguese meal made with garlic, beer, butter, seafood. What else can you ask for? Oh yes, & EASY! Number Of Ingredients 8

1 lb uncooked shrimp, tail on
1 can(s) beer
4 clove garlic, minced
1 medium onion, minced
4 Tbsp butter
2-4 oz hot sauce (i suggest frank's red hot)
2 pkg goya con azafran
1/2 lemon

Steps:

  • 1. Add butter, garlic, and onion to a medium sized pot and cook over medium heat just until onions are translucent, but not browned. About 4-5 minutes. Add can of beer. Then your hot sauce and seasoning. Cook for about 3 minutes.
  • 2. Next, add your shrimp and lemon. Cover and cook for additional 5-6 minutes, or until shrimp is pink and cooked through. Enjoy!
