Spicy Wine Pot Roast image

I "adopted" this recipe but have made it a lot and really like it. Just add potatoes and you have a full meal.

Number Of Ingredients 13

3 lb beef roast
1 onion, finely chopped
1 pkg brown gravy mix
1 c water
1/4 c ketchup
1/4 c red wine
2 tsp mustard
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
2/3 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp herbs of choice
parsley
salt
pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper.
  • 2. Place in crockpot.
  • 3. Combine the remaining ingredients, except parsley, and pour over meat.
  • 4. Cover and cook on low 10 hours.
  • 5. Remove the meat and slice.
  • 6. Thicken sauce with flour mixed in a small amount of water and serve over meat sprinkled with chopped parsley.
