Spirited Chocolate Chip Cookies image

I went to a Christmas party at a friends house this year and among the treats were these little gems. Filled with chocolate chips, nuts, and spiked with kahlua, they are a little party in your mouth. I got the recipe just today and immediately made a batch. The recipe called generically for nuts and I always associate walnuts with chocolate chips, but I was out. I did have plenty of almonds and I am so glad I did. What a great combination of flavors!

These cookies are not worth the effort. They're bland and boring.

The cookies were a bit dry. I think I overbaked them. Next time I'll bake them for a shorter amount of time.

These cookies are a little too sweet for my taste. I think I'll reduce the amount of sugar next time.

I wasn't sure how the spirits would taste in the cookies, but I was pleasantly surprised. They added a subtle flavor that really enhanced the chocolate.

I followed the recipe exactly and the cookies turned out perfect. They were soft and chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The chocolate chips were melted and gooey. Yum!
