Spoonburgers image

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon curry powder
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 pound ground beef
1/4 cup green bell pepper, chopped (optional)
1/4 cup celery finely diced
1/2 cup onion chopped
8 hamburger buns

Steps:

  • In medium saucepan combine first nine ingredients simmer 10 minutes. In skillet cook together ground beef, green pepper, celery, and onion until meat loses its pink color and vegetables are soft. Combine with sauce simmer 5 minutes. Makes enough filling for 8 to 10 hamburger buns.

These spoonburgers were a bit dry, but still tasty. I think I will add more liquid to the mix next time. Overall, they were a good meal and I would make them again.
