St. John's Dip image

This has all the flavor of a tasty burrito without the tortilla! I do believe that this would easily be a hit at any gathering.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 lb lean hamburger
1 can(s) re-fried beans
1 pkg taco seasoning mix
8 oz sour cream
4 oz diced green chiles
1 c shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 c chopped black olives (optional)
1/2 c chopped red pepper (optional)
1 pkg tortilla chips

Steps:

  • 1. Brown the Hamburger, over medium heat, and drain off fat.
  • 2. Add Re-Fried Beans and mix with browned hamburger till smooth.
  • 3. Mix in Taco Seasoning mix.
  • 4. Spread Hamburger mixture on bottom of 8x8 baking pan.
  • 5. Spread Sour Cream over Hamburger mixture.
  • 6. Top Sour Cream with diced Green Chile's.
  • 7. Cover Green Chile's with shredded Cheddar Cheese.
  • 8. Sprinkle the chopped Black Olives and chopped Red Pepper over the shredded Cheddar Cheese, but don't cover entirely.
  • 9. Place in Pre-heated 350° oven and bake for 20 to 30 minutes. Cheese should be melted and bubbly.
  • 10. Serve with Tortilla Chips.

This dip is great for make-ahead parties. I just make it a few hours before the party and then let it chill in the fridge. It's always a hit!
