I found this in a box of old family recipes - it was a gift from a Ms. Kurzawa to my grandmother, who apparently loved these cookies. When I made them, they even won over our resident ginger snap hater - he ate almost the whole batch!

Steps:
- 1. Mix shortening, sugar, eggs, and molasses.
- 2. Blend dry ingredients in a separate bowl, then stir into shortening mixture.
- 3. Form dough into 1 in. balls, then place about 2 in. apart on greased cookie sheets.
- 4. Bake @ 350 for 10-12 min.
- 5. Roll in powdered sugar while still warm. Makes approx. 5 doz.
- 6. An additional note from Ms. Kurzawa: "Save some to eat AFTER they're cool, too!"
