Sweet Chops image

Pork Chops with a oriental flavor. Nice served with rice and a green vegetable. I like Steamed Ginger Broccoli that I have already posted.

Number Of Ingredients 12

4 pork chops, center cut
1 Tbsp canola oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 Tbsp fresh ginger, minced
SAUCE
2 tsp canola oil
4 Tbsp rice wine
4 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
2 tsp cornstarch
2 Tbsp water

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oil in skillet. Saute` chops with garlic and ginger in oil, turning to brown both sides.
  • 2. SAUCE: To make sauce, combine oil, rice wine, soy sauce, brown sugar and red pepper flakes.
  • 3. Pour over chops in skillet and cover tightly. Simmer over low heat until chops are tender and cooked through; 30-35 minutes.
  • 4. Add water as needed to keep sauce from cooking down too much.
  • 5. Remove chops from skillet to serving platter. Stir in cornstarch dissolved in water. Cook until thickened. Pour over chops and serve.
