Tvp Vegan Sloppy Joes image

This is the recipe from "The New Farm Vegetarian Cookbook". SO EASY!!! My kids have always loved this, they are 15 and 11. Originally it called for 3TBS oil, I use 2, but I'm sure you could use less. A little indulgence doesn't hurt. I use olive oil because I LOVE it.

I would not recommend this recipe. The sloppy joes were bland and the texture was mushy.

These sloppy joes are just okay. They're not bad, but they're not great either.

I'm not sure what went wrong, but my sloppy joes turned out really dry. I think I might have overcooked the TVP.

These sloppy joes are a great way to get your kids to eat their vegetables. My kids love them and they don't even realize they're eating bell peppers and onions.

I made these sloppy joes for a potluck and they were a huge success! Everyone loved them, even the meat-eaters.

These sloppy joes were a little too spicy for my taste, but I think that's just because I used a little too much chili powder. Next time I'll cut back on the spice and I'm sure they'll be perfect.

I was skeptical about using TVP in a sloppy joe recipe, but I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. The TVP gave the joes a nice, hearty texture.
