Time 1h10m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 c light corn syrup
3 large eggs
1 c sugar
2 Tbsp real unsalted butter (melted)
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/4 tsp maple extract
1 1/2 c pecans
1/2 vanilla bean (optional but wonderful!)

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Prepare one 9" pie crust
  • 2. Mix corn syrup, eggs, sugar, butter, maple and vanilla extract and vanilla bean using a spoon until well blended. Stir in pecans.
  • 3. Pour into your pie shell and bake at 350 degrees for 60 to 70 minutes. Ovens vary, so always check when your time comes close.
  • 4. Test your pie after about 50 minutes with a thermometer it should be at 200 degrees in the center of your pie. I love doing this, makes you feel confident that your pie is done and not under or over cooked.

The pie was a bit too runny. I think I would cook it for a few minutes longer next time.

The pie was a bit dry. I think I would add more butter to the crust next time.

This recipe is a bit too sweet for my taste. I would reduce the amount of sugar next time.

I'm not a huge fan of pecan pie, but I really enjoyed this recipe. The crust was flaky and the filling was rich and gooey.

I didn't have any corn syrup on hand, so I substituted honey. The pie still turned out great.

I was a bit skeptical about the chocolate chips in this recipe, but I'm so glad I tried it. They added a really nice flavor to the pie.
