5 Minute No-Bake Cookies image

These are a delicious chocolate oatmeal no-bake cookie that are so easy to make on the stove , our family have been making these for years and they are a family favorite. I make these about once a week because they get eaten up fast around here. You can omit the peanut butter and add coconut and/or nuts to these cookies also and...

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 c sugar
4 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 lb butter or margarine
1/2 c milk
1/2 c peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
3 1/2 c quick cooking oatmeal (i use the 1 minute type)

Steps:

  • 1. In a saucepan on the stove, add the sugar, cocoa, butter and milk; mix until combined.
  • 2. Bring to a boil on high heat; constantly stirring. Cook for 2 minutes once it starts to boil. Note: You want a good hard boil.
  • 3. Remove from heat; add the vanilla and peanut butter.
  • 4. Stir until all the peanut butter has dissolved.
  • 5. Add the oatmeal.
  • 6. Mix oatmeal in the chocolate sauce until all combined together.
  • 7. Using a cookie scoop or a heaping tablespoon, drop onto parchment or tinfoil and smash down to form the shape of a cookie.
  • 8. Let cool until they are set - takes about 20 minutes or so.
