I can't believe I haven't posted this! It's a big hit in my family, I get requests for it every year around Christmas. The key to this is to get your syrup thick before adding the vodka--this is what makes it indistinguishable from Di Saronno, at a much reduced cost.

I was a bit skeptical about adding amaretto to a chocolate cake, but I'm glad I gave it a try. The liqueur added a subtle nuttiness that really complemented the chocolate. I'll definitely be making this cake again.

Easy to make and turned out delicious! I used dark chocolate chips instead of semisweet, and I think it gave the cake a richer flavor.

I made this for a dinner party and everyone raved about it! The flavors of the amaretto, coffee, and chocolate worked so well together. The texture was perfect, too - light and fluffy, with just the right amount of crunch from the almonds.
