Amish Pot Roast image

when i was a teenager in high school i became friends with mennonite people who ran a resturant and i worked with them and they gave me all kinds of recipes

Number Of Ingredients 8

3 to 4 lb beef roast (sirloin tip, rump, english cut)
1 Tbsp oil
1/4 c soy sauce
1 c coffee
2 bay leaves
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp oregano
2 onions, sliced

Steps:

  • 1. sear roast in 1 tablespoon oil on all sides in heavy dutch oven. pour sauce over meat. cover and roast 4-5 hours at 325.

I'm not a huge fan of pot roast, but this recipe was really good! The meat was tender and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. I would definitely make this again.
