Baked Snapper Chinoise image

Some of my favorite flavors -- soy, garlic and ginger. Low calorie also. I think I found it in the cookbook 365 Easy Low-Calorie Recipes. Serve with rice and steamed or stir-fried vegetables.

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 tablespoon light soy sauce
1/2 minced garlic clove
1 teaspoon finely chopped gingerroot
1/2 cup vegetable broth
1 teaspoon sugar
4 red snapper fillets, about 3 oz. each

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450°F.
  • Combine soy sauce, garlic, ginger, broth and sugar in a oven proof shallow casserole dish. Arrange snapper fillets (I have used tilapia) in casserole in a single layer flipping over to coat.
  • Bake 10 minutes, basting twice with the sauce, until fish is just opaque throughout.

This recipe was a good starting point, but I made some changes to it to suit my taste. I used a different type of fish and I added some additional vegetables to the sauce. The final dish was delicious and I'll definitely be making it again.

This recipe was okay. The snapper was cooked well and the sauce was flavorful, but it wasn't anything special. I've had better snapper dishes before. I might try this recipe again, but I'll make some changes to it.

This recipe was a disaster! The snapper was overcooked and the sauce was bland. I followed the recipe exactly, but something went wrong. I'm not sure if I'll be trying this recipe again.

This dish was a bit too fishy for my taste. The snapper was cooked perfectly and the sauce was flavorful, but the fish itself was a bit too strong. I'll definitely be trying a different recipe next time.

This recipe was easy to follow and the fish turned out great! The sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste, but it was still very good. I'll definitely be making this again, but I'll use less sugar next time.

This baked snapper recipe was an absolute delight! The flavors of the Chinese sauce perfectly complemented the delicate fish, and the crispy skin added a delightful textural contrast. I highly recommend this dish for a special occasion meal.
