Yield 4 drinks

Number Of Ingredients 3

2 cups dry white wine, chilled
12 basil leaves, roughly shredded
3 mint leaves (or another soft herb, or additional basil)

Steps:

  • Combine wine and herbs. Working in batches, pour mixture into the bottle of a carbonator, filling it not more than 1/2 full (this will give the mixture room to foam). Charge with CO2 until very fizzy.
  • Very slowly, as if opening a bottle of soda, release the bottle from the carbonator. Serve immediately, or cover tightly and chill. Serve over ice or straight up.

This drink is a little too sweet for my taste. I think I'll try it again with less sugar next time.

I'm not a big fan of wine, but this drink was actually really good. The basil and mint flavors really balance out the wine.

I didn't have any white wine, so I used rosé instead. It turned out really well!

This drink was way too sweet for me. I had to add a lot of club soda to make it palatable.

I'm not sure I like the combination of basil and mint in a drink. It's just not my thing.

I couldn't find fresh basil or mint, so I used dried herbs instead. It still turned out pretty good, but I think it would have been better with fresh herbs.

This was a great way to use up some fresh basil and mint from my garden. It was also a nice change from my usual go-to summer drink.
