Best Hushpuppies Ever image

I tried every recipe I could find for years and this is the best, perfect everytime

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/2 c yellow cornmeal
1/2 c self rising flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 Tbsp sugar
1 egg
1/4 c chopped jalepeno peppers
1/4 c chopped onions
2 oz niblet corn (drained)
milk (only enough to make consistency right)

Steps:

  • 1. Mix dry ingredients, then add peppers, onions and corn, sit up good. Add egg, stir again, add only enough milk to make batter the right consistency. Fill a cup half full of cold water, dip the spoon into the water before the you dip the batter this will make the batter drop smoothly into oil(do this everytime) Fry until golden brown.
