Tips:

  • Use the right apples. Granny Smith apples, with their tart flavor and firm texture, are the best choice for applesauce cookies. If you use a sweeter apple, like a Honeycrisp or Gala, you may need to reduce the amount of sugar in the recipe.
  • Make sure your applesauce is unsweetened. If you use sweetened applesauce, your cookies will be too sweet.
  • Chill the dough before baking. This will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the cookies until the edges are just starting to brown. Overbaking will make the cookies dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before serving. This will help them set and develop their full flavor.

Conclusion:

Applesauce cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for a quick snack or a sweet dessert. With their soft and chewy texture and their sweet and tart flavor, applesauce cookies are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. So next time you're looking for a simple and delicious recipe, give these applesauce cookies a try. You won't be disappointed!
