Number Of Ingredients 4

15 egg roll wrappers
1 pound smoked mozzarella, cut into 3x1/2" logs
Canola oil (for frying)
Kosher salt

Steps:

  • Arrange stack of egg roll wrappers on a clean work surface in front of you like a diamond. Working with one at a time, brush surface lightly with water. Place a mozzarella log across bottom third of diamond. Roll cheese up tightly in wrapper, tucking corners in halfway through. Seal edges, then repeat with remaining wrappers and cheese.
  • Pour oil into a large nonstick skillet to come 1/8" up sides; heat over medium-high until shimmering. Working in batches, fry mozzarella sticks, turning once, until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side. Transfer to paper towels and season immediately with salt. Let cool slightly before serving.

Tips:

  • Use fresh mozzarella cheese for the best results, as it will melt and stretch better than pre-shredded cheese.
  • Cut the mozzarella sticks into even sizes so that they cook evenly.
  • To prevent the mozzarella sticks from sticking together, coat them in a light layer of flour before breading.
  • Use a breading mixture that is flavorful and crispy, such as panko breadcrumbs or crushed crackers.
  • Be sure to cook the mozzarella sticks until they are golden brown and crispy, but not overcooked, as this will make them tough and chewy.
  • Serve the mozzarella sticks hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or barbecue sauce.

Conclusion:

3-ingredient smoked mozzarella sticks are a quick and easy appetizer or snack that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
