Tips:

  • Prep ahead: Chill the sherbet, yogurt, and whipped topping before assembling. This will help the punch bowl dessert set faster and maintain its shape.
  • Use a large bowl: A punch bowl or trifle dish is ideal for this dessert, as it needs to be able to hold all of the ingredients. If you don't have a punch bowl, you can use a large glass bowl or even a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Layer carefully: When layering the ingredients, be sure to spread them out evenly and press them down gently. This will help to prevent the layers from mixing together and creating a mushy dessert.
  • Chill before serving: Once the punch bowl dessert is assembled, cover it with plastic wrap and chill it for at least 4 hours, or overnight. This will allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set properly.
  • Garnish with flair: Before serving, garnish the punch bowl dessert with additional whipped topping, sprinkles, or fresh fruit. This will make it look even more festive and appealing.
