Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine meat, bread crumbs, onion, ketchup, eggs, and onion soup mix.
- Use your hands to squish all of the ingredients together until all of the ingredients are well combined.
- Form the meat mixture into two "loaves." At this point, I usually wrap one of the loaves in press and seal freezer wrap and toss it in the freezer. However, if you have a larger family, you'll probably want to cook both.
- Put the two loaves in a 13x9 baking pan and bake for 45 minutes.
- While the loaves are baking, mix up the sauce by stirring the ketchup, the brown sugar, and the mustard together until smooth. Set aside.
- After 45 minutes, take the meat loaves out and spread the sauce over the tops.
- Placed the sauced loaves back in the oven and bake for another 15 minutes or until cooked through.
- Let the meat loaves cool for 5 - 10 minutes before cutting them.
- Enjoy!
- P.S. To cook a frozen meatloaf, take the frozen meat loaf out the day before you want to cook it and let it thaw in the refrigerator. Cook as stated above.
- P.S.S. This meatloaf pairs wonderfully with my super yummy corn casserole!

MEATLOAF RECIPE
Recipe video above. Meatloaf is so much more than a giant hunk of ground beef in a loaf shape. It should ooze with flavour, be moist and tender yet not crumble apart when sliced. And the caramelised glaze is the crowning glory!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 180C/350F. Oil or spray a loaf tin. (Note 3)
- Glaze: Mix together in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Meatloaf: Place breadcrumbs in a very large bowl. Grate over onion. Mix so the breadcrumbs are all wet. (Note 4)
- Add remaining ingredients. Mix well using your hands. Form into a loaf shape, pinching together then smoothing over creases and cracks (helps prevent cracks during baking).
- Transfer into loaf tin. Brush generously with glaze, using about 1/2.
- Bake for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and brush with most of the remaining glaze. If there is excess fat pooling, scoop/pour it off.
- Bake for a further 30 minutes. Remove from oven.
- Stand for 10 minutes before turning out and cutting into thick slices. You will probably get a bit of crumbling just on the edges of the first couple of slices, this is normal and indicative of the tenderness of the meatloaf (zero crumble indicates firm packed harder meatloaf which isn't as enjoyable!).
- Ideal served with a dollop of ketchup, creamy mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables.

THE BEST MEATLOAF I'VE EVER MADE

When I moved out on my own I started experimenting with different recipes and creating my own version. I finally came up with the best meatloaf I have ever made, and I wanted to share it.

Tips:
- Use high-quality ground beef. The quality of your ground beef will greatly impact the flavor of your meatloaf. Look for ground beef that is at least 80% lean, and avoid using ground beef that is too finely ground.
- Add moisture to the meatloaf. Meatloaf can easily become dry, so it is important to add moisture to the mixture. This can be done by adding eggs, milk, bread crumbs, or vegetables to the meatloaf.
- Season the meatloaf well. Meatloaf is a blank canvas for flavor, so don't be afraid to season it well. Use a variety of spices and herbs to create a flavorful meatloaf that everyone will enjoy.
- Cook the meatloaf at the right temperature. Meatloaf should be cooked at a moderate temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit. This will help to ensure that the meatloaf cooks evenly and does not become dry.
- Let the meatloaf rest before slicing. Once the meatloaf is cooked, let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. This will help the meatloaf to hold its shape and make it easier to slice.
Conclusion:
Meatloaf is a classic comfort food that is easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. By following the tips in this article, you can make a delicious and flavorful meatloaf that your family and friends will love.
