Yield 2

Number Of Ingredients 16

cooking spray
3 tablespoons baking powder
1 ½ teaspoons salt
1 ½ teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
2 pounds chicken wings, split and tips discarded
⅓ cup water
⅓ cup balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons chili sauce (such as Heinz®)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon water
¼ teaspoon cornstarch
1 green onion, thinly sliced
¼ teaspoon toasted sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Preheat an air fryer to 380 degrees F (190 degrees C). Coat the fryer basket with cooking spray.
  • Whisk baking powder, salt, pepper, and paprika together in a small bowl. Place baking powder mixture in a bag, add some of the chicken wings, and shake the bag to coat. Remove wings from the bag, shaking off excess powder, and repeat until all wings are coated with baking powder mixture.
  • Lightly spray the wings with cooking spray, place in the prepared air fryer basket, and cook for 20 minutes, shaking and flipping the wings halfway through. Increase the temperature to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and cook until crispy, about 5 minutes more. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may have to cook the wings in batches.
  • Meanwhile, combine 1/3 cup water, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, honey, chili sauce, and garlic in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a low boil and cook until sauce has reduced, about 15 minutes. Whisk together 1 teaspoon water and cornstarch in a small bowl and pour into the sauce; stir until sauce has thickened.
  • Place crispy wings into a large bowl, drizzle with sauce, and toss until well coated. Garnish with sliced green onion and sesame seeds, and serve immediately.

AIR FRYER CHICKEN WINGS WITH SOY GLAZE

Air Fryer Chicken Wings with Soy Glaze image

While fried chicken wings are one of my favorites, you can also achieve the same bite without frying them. An air fryer produces wings that taste just as good and have almost no added oil. One of my favorite tricks is to use the marinade as the basting liquid. It helps reduce waste and gives such good flavor. If you don't have an air fryer you can bake the wings in the oven. Follow the same instructions, but check the wings periodically-you may need to cook them a tad longer.

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 tablespoon sambal
1/2 cup soy sauce
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 bunch scallions, thinly sliced
1 pound chicken wings
3 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Mix together the sambal, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, scallion whites and half of the scallion greens (reserve the remaining greens for garnish) together in a medium bowl. Add the wings and marinate in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  • Preheat an air fryer to 380 degrees F. Remove the chicken wings from marinade, and place wings in the air fryer basket. Pour the marinade into a saucepan and set aside. Cook the wings for 22 minutes.
  • While the wings are cooking, add the rice vinegar to the marinade and bring the liquid to a boil over medium heat. Boil for 2 minutes, then reduce the heat so the sauce stays warm.
  • Once the wings have cooked for 22 minutes, remove the basket from the frying and brush some of the marinade on the wings making sure to coat them well. Place the basket back in the air fryer, increase the heat to 400 degrees F and cook until they are golden brown and delicious, about 3 minutes, keeping an eye out so they don't burn.
  • Place the wings on a serving platter and spoon any remaining marinade over the wings. Garnish with scallion greens and the sesame seeds and serve.

AIR-FRIED CHICKEN WINGS

Use an air fryer to make these easy chicken wings, and add the seasoning or sauce of your choice. They're perfect for a buffet or just a movie night snack

Provided by Anna Glover

Categories     Buffet, Side dish, Snack

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 4

1kg chicken wings
1 tbsp sunflower or olive oil
seasoning of your choice (use salt and pepper, or ½-1 tsp of either smoky BBQ, ras-el-hanout, garlic granules, celery salt or garam masala)
dipping sauce, to serve (optional)

Steps:

  • Separate each chicken wing in two at the joint, removing the wing tips if you like using sharp kitchen scissors. Toss the chicken wings in the oil and seasoning, then tip into an air fryer (you can either use one with a paddle, or arrange them on the tray of your air fryer if it doesn't have a paddle).
  • Program the air fryer to cook for 35 mins. Check the wings are tender and cooked through - they should be almost falling off the bone - and cook for a further 5 mins if needed. The skin should have bubbled and crisped up, and any excess fat from the chicken will have dripped off into base of the fryer (discard this). Don't leave the chicken in the fryer, or the steam will make the skin soft again. Immediately tip into a bowl and serve with sauce for dipping.

Tips:

  • Choose the right chicken wings: Look for wings that are plump and have a good amount of meat on them. Avoid wings that are too small or have been previously frozen.
  • Pat the chicken wings dry: This will help the glaze adhere to the wings and prevent them from becoming soggy.
  • Use a flavorful marinade: The marinade is what will give the chicken wings their flavor, so make sure to use a marinade that you enjoy. The recipe in the article uses a simple balsamic vinegar and olive oil marinade, but you can use any marinade that you like.
  • Cook the chicken wings at a high temperature: This will help to crisp up the skin and cook the chicken wings through. The recipe in the article calls for cooking the chicken wings at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-15 minutes.
  • Glaze the chicken wings: Once the chicken wings are cooked, brush them with a glaze. The glaze in the recipe in the article is made from balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, and honey. You can use any glaze that you like, but make sure that it is thick enough to coat the chicken wings.

Conclusion:

Air fryer balsamic glazed chicken wings are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main course. They are perfect for parties or game day gatherings. The chicken wings are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the balsamic glaze adds a sweet and tangy flavor. If you are looking for a new way to cook chicken wings, be sure to try this recipe. You won't be disappointed!
