Tips:

  • Ensure that the catfish fillets are patted dry before coating them in the pretzel crust mixture. This helps the crust adhere better to the fish and prevents it from becoming soggy.
  • Use a light hand when pressing the pretzel crust mixture onto the catfish fillets. Pressing too hard will compact the crust and make it less crispy.
  • Preheat the air fryer to the desired temperature before cooking the catfish. This helps the crust cook evenly and prevents it from becoming soggy.
  • Cook the catfish fillets in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Overcrowding the basket will prevent the catfish from cooking evenly.
  • Flip the catfish fillets halfway through the cooking time to ensure that they cook evenly on both sides.
  • Serve the pretzel-crusted catfish immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as honey mustard, tartar sauce, or ranch dressing.
