1 slice whole-grain bread
4 teaspoons almond butter
Thinly sliced pear

Steps:

  • Spread 1 slice whole-grain bread with 4 teaspoons almond butter. Top with thinly sliced pear.

Tips:

  • Choosing the Right Pears: Opt for firm, ripe pears that are free of blemishes. Bosc, Bartlett, and Anjou varieties work well for this recipe.
  • Preparing the Pears: Core the pears, leaving the stem intact. This allows the pears to hold their shape during baking.
  • Making the Almond Butter Filling: Use creamy almond butter for a smooth filling. Add honey or maple syrup to taste, depending on your desired sweetness level.
  • Stuffing the Pears: Generously fill the cored pears with the almond butter mixture. Press down gently to ensure the filling is evenly distributed.
  • Baking the Pears: Place the stuffed pears in a baking dish with a little water to prevent them from drying out. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-40 minutes or until the pears are tender.
  • Serving Suggestions: Serve the baked almond butter stuffed pears warm or at room temperature. Top with additional almond butter, honey, or chopped nuts for added flavor and texture.
