Tips:
- Measure ingredients accurately: Using the correct amount of ingredients is crucial for successful baking. Use measuring cups and spoons for dry and liquid ingredients, respectively.
- Use room temperature ingredients: This allows ingredients to blend more easily and evenly, resulting in a smoother batter or dough.
- Cream butter and sugar together thoroughly: This step incorporates air into the mixture, making the cookies light and fluffy.
- Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing can result in tough, dense cookies. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Chill the dough before baking: Chilling the dough helps it hold its shape better and prevents spreading.
- Bake the cookies at the right temperature and for the correct amount of time: Overbaking can dry out the cookies, while underbaking can leave them doughy. Follow the recipe's baking instructions closely.
- Let the cookies cool completely before storing: This allows them to set and firm up.
