Tips:
- Toast the Poppy Seeds: Toasting the poppy seeds before adding them to the batter enhances their nutty flavor and adds a delightful crunch to the bread.
- Use Freshly Ground Almonds: Grinding almonds at home yields finer and fresher almond flour, resulting in a more flavorful and moist bread.
- Cream the Butter and Sugar: Creaming the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy incorporates air into the mixture, creating a tender and airy bread crumb.
- Add the Eggs One at a Time: Gradually adding the eggs one at a time ensures that they are fully incorporated into the batter without overmixing, which can toughen the bread.
- Don't Overmix the Batter: Overmixing the batter can develop the gluten in the flour, resulting in a dense and chewy bread. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Use a Loaf Pan with a Non-Stick Coating: A non-stick loaf pan prevents the bread from sticking and makes it easier to remove once baked.
- Tent the Bread with Foil: Tenting the bread with foil during baking prevents the top from browning too quickly and allows the center to bake evenly.
- Cool the Bread Completely: Allow the bread to cool completely before slicing and serving. This helps the bread set and develop its full flavor.
