ALREADY FOR MEATLOAF PINWHEEL

Already for Meatloaf Pinwheel image

As a single working mother of three growing boys, I was always looking for good "make ahead" recipes.. I found this one and it was a winner. A lot of times, I would make it the night before and call the boys to "slice and bake" so it would be ready when I got home..The recipe calls for CheezWhiz for the cheese spread. Recipe prep time does not include rice preparation or chill time.(you can use leftover rice)

Tips:

  • Choose the right ground meat: A combination of ground beef and ground pork is a classic choice for meatloaf pinwheels, as it provides a good balance of flavor and texture. You can also use all beef or all pork, or even try a mixture of different meats, such as ground lamb or veal.
  • Season the meatloaf mixture well: Use a variety of spices and herbs to flavor the meatloaf mixture, such as garlic, onion, paprika, cumin, and oregano. You can also add some grated cheese or bread crumbs for extra flavor and texture.
  • Don't overwork the meatloaf mixture: Overworking the meatloaf mixture can make it tough. Mix the ingredients together just until they are combined.
  • Use a sharp knife to cut the meatloaf pinwheels: A sharp knife will help you get clean, even cuts. If your knife is dull, the meatloaf pinwheels may tear or crumble.
  • Cook the meatloaf pinwheels until they are cooked through: The internal temperature of the meatloaf pinwheels should reach 165°F (74°C). You can check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer.
