Number Of Ingredients 6

2 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
⅔ cup white sugar
1 ½ tablespoons active dry yeast

Tips:

  • For extra richness, use whole milk instead of regular milk. You can also add a tablespoon of softened butter or melted butter to the dough.
  • If you don't have a stand mixer, you can make the dough by hand. Be sure to knead it for at least 10 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm place for about an hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  • Before baking, brush the loaves with melted butter and sprinkle them with cornmeal. This will give them a golden brown crust.
  • Bake the loaves for about 30-35 minutes, or until they are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped.
  • Let the loaves cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
