This Thanksgiving stuffing is fantastic! It is very flavorful and fresh-tasting. This recipe will stuff a 10-pound turkey (which serves six) plus extra. I replaced the usual pork sausage with much healthier turkey sausage. Other dried fruits may also be used in place of cranberries.

Tips:

  • Mise en place: As with any complex recipe, it's helpful to have all of your ingredients prepped and measured before you start cooking. This will help you stay organized and avoid scrambling.
  • Use fresh ingredients: The fresher the ingredients, the better the stuffing will taste. If possible, use organic produce and free-range poultry.
  • Don't overfill the stuffing: The stuffing should be loose enough to allow the flavors to circulate, but not so loose that it falls apart. A good rule of thumb is to fill the cavity of the bird no more than 3/4 full.
  • Cook the stuffing properly: The stuffing should reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. To ensure that it cooks evenly, use a meat thermometer to check the temperature in several different places.
  • Let the stuffing rest before serving: This will allow the flavors to meld and the stuffing to set. Cover the stuffing loosely with foil and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Conclusion:

Apple cranberry cornbread stuffing is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed as a side dish or a main course. It's perfect for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any other special occasion. With its sweet and tangy flavor, this stuffing is sure to be a hit with everyone at the table.
