CHOCOLATE ARROWROOT COOKIES (NO GLUTEN, NO SUGAR)

Chocolate Arrowroot Cookies (No Gluten, No Sugar) image

This is a alteration of my Recipe #401548, a ginger version. These are a tasty little chocolate cookie without sugar or grains. If you didn't want nuts, you could leave them out but might want a bit more arrowroot. These are mixed all in the saucepan you start with and are so good I usually make a double batch.

Time 30m

Yield 15-20 cookies, 15-20 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

55 g butter
2 tablespoons honey
20 g almonds
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
80 g arrowroot
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Steps:

  • Melt the butter and honey in a medium saucepan.
  • Remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients.
  • Allow to stand. If after 5-10 minutes the dough is not firm, add a bit more arrowroot.
  • Roll into small balls and bake at 350°F/170°C for 10-15 minutes.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your cookies will be.
  • Use good quality butter: Butter is a key ingredient in these cookies, so it's important to use a high-quality butter that has a rich flavor.
  • Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing the dough will make the cookies tough, so be sure to mix it just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough before baking: Chilling the dough before baking will help the cookies to hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set: The cookies should be slightly golden brown around the edges and still a little soft in the center when they are done.

Conclusion:

These arrowroot cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. They are gluten-free, dairy-free, and can be made vegan by using vegan butter and eggs. The cookies are soft and chewy with a slightly crispy exterior. They are also packed with flavor from the bananas, brown sugar, and spices. If you are looking for a healthy and delicious cookie recipe, these arrowroot cookies are the perfect choice.
