After reading a number of different crock pot ribs, I decided to post my version. The combination of soy and worcestershire sauce give the ribs a little something different to taste. Enjoy!

Time 8h15m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 -3 lbs pork ribs
1/4 cup soy sauce
3 -4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 -2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
seasoning salt
pepper
garlic powder
onion powder
your favorite barbecue sauce (optional)

Steps:

  • Cut ribs into individual pieces.
  • Mix soy sauce, worcestershire sauce and olive oil together. Pour over ribs and mix to make sure each rib is coated.
  • Season to taste with salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder. Be careful with the salt since soy sauce is naturally salty.
  • Cook in crock pot on low 8-10 hours or high 4-6 hours.
  • Optional: Remove from crock pot (store liquid as stock if you like, otherwise discard) and coat ribs with your favorite sauce. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes. I have found the ribs taste great either way.

CROCK POT PORK RIBS

Delicious fall-off-the-bone pork ribs....sooo good! While the original recipe calls for country-style boneless ribs, I've used pork spare ribs purchased at the butcher counter of the grocery store.

Time 8h15m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 -3 lbs pork ribs
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 large white onion, quartered and sliced thin
2/3 cup soy sauce
1 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
6 tablespoons brown sugar
2 garlic cloves, minced
black pepper
1/4 cup malt vinegar

Steps:

  • Butcher ribs into individual pieces and trim excess fat.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large cast iron skillet or pan; brown ribs evenly on all sides, starting bone-side down.
  • Transfer ribs to the crock pot and keep covered in between batches.
  • In a medium bowl, combine all the sauce ingredients and whisk.
  • Cover the ribs with the onion and sauce; turn to coat.
  • Cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours.

Tips:

  • Choose the right ribs: Baby back ribs are the most popular and easiest to cook in a crock pot, but you can also use spare ribs or country-style ribs.
  • Trim the ribs: Remove any excess fat or silver skin from the ribs before cooking.
  • Season the ribs: Season the ribs with your favorite rub or spices. You can also add a little bit of oil to help the spices stick.
  • Brown the ribs (optional): Browning the ribs before cooking them in the crock pot will add flavor and color. You can do this in a skillet over medium heat for a few minutes per side.
  • Add liquid to the crock pot: Add enough liquid to the crock pot to cover the ribs halfway. You can use water, broth, or a combination of both.
  • Cook the ribs on low for 6-8 hours: Cover the crock pot and cook the ribs on low for 6-8 hours, or until they are fall-off-the-bone tender.
  • Baste the ribs occasionally: Every few hours, baste the ribs with the cooking liquid to keep them moist.
  • Serve the ribs with your favorite sides: Once the ribs are cooked, serve them with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or baked beans.

Conclusion:

Cooking ribs in a crock pot is a great way to enjoy a delicious and tender meal with minimal effort. With a little planning and preparation, you can have fall-off-the-bone ribs that are sure to impress your family and friends. So next time you're looking for an easy and flavorful meal, give these crock pot pork ribs a try!
