AUNT FREED'S BUTTER PECAN DESSERT
This is rich, but Good. I like that it's hard to do wrong, and that you can also make it with other puddings. Chocolate pudding is delicious in this, as is coconut cream pudding topped with toasted coconut just before serving. It's also good with pitachio pudding for St. Patrick's Day.

Steps:
- Whisk each egg one at a time. Mix remaining ingredients.
- Bake 350 for 50 t0 60 minutes.
Tips:
- Use the right butter. Unsalted butter is the best choice for this recipe, as it allows you to control the amount of salt in the dish. If you only have salted butter on hand, be sure to omit the additional salt called for in the recipe.
- Toast the pecans. Toasting the pecans brings out their nutty flavor and makes them even more delicious. Be sure to watch them closely while they are toasting, as they can burn easily.
- Don't overcook the eggs. The eggs should be cooked just until they are set, otherwise they will become tough and rubbery. You can check the eggs by inserting a toothpick into the center. If the toothpick comes out clean, the eggs are done.
- Chill the dessert before serving. Chilling the dessert allows the flavors to meld and the texture to firm up. You can chill the dessert for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
- Serve the dessert with your favorite toppings. Some popular toppings for this dessert include whipped cream, ice cream, and fresh fruit.
Conclusion:
Aunt Freed's Butter Pecan Dessert is a classic Southern recipe that is sure to please everyone at your table. This rich and creamy dessert is made with simple ingredients and is easy to prepare. Whether you are serving it for a special occasion or just as a weeknight treat, this dessert is sure to be a hit.
