Time 40m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon coarse sea salt
1 pinch Creole seasoning (such as Tony Chachere's®), or to taste
1 tablespoon water, or as needed

Steps:

  • Preheat convection oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Rub chicken breasts with olive oil and sprinkle both sides with salt and Creole seasoning. Place chicken in a broiler pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Flip chicken and cook until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 15 minutes more. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
  • Remove chicken from pan. Pour water into the pan, while scraping the browned bits of food off of the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon. Add more water if needed to dislodge the browned bits; serve alongside chicken.

Tips:

  • Choose the right chicken: For best results, use a whole chicken that weighs between 3 and 4 pounds. A larger chicken will take longer to cook.
  • Prepare the chicken: Rinse the chicken inside and out and pat it dry with paper towels. Remove any excess fat.
  • Season the chicken: Season the chicken inside and out with salt, pepper, and your favorite herbs and spices. You can also add a little olive oil to help the seasonings adhere to the chicken.
  • Roast the chicken: Place the chicken on a roasting rack in a baking pan. Roast the chicken in a preheated oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the chicken rest: Once the chicken is cooked, let it rest for about 10 minutes before carving. This will help the juices redistribute throughout the chicken, making it more tender and flavorful.

Conclusion:

Baking chicken in the oven is a simple and delicious way to cook this versatile protein. With a little planning and preparation, you can create a juicy, flavorful chicken that your family and friends will love.
