BAKED APPLE WITH CRANBERRIES
I had this for breakfast this morning. My internet was off and I couldn't look up baked apples so I made this one up. I enjoyed it so I thought I would post it. I used brown sugar substitute, but you can used regular brown sugar. I kept it low in both sweet and butter but you can add more if you want. I baked it in a toaster oven at 350°F for 30 minutes. If you use sweetened cranberries, I would cut back on the sugar. Substitute margarine for butter and this is a vegetarian recipe.

SPICED BAKED APPLES
I LOVE harvesttime and being able to cook with all the fresh produce gathered from gardens and groves. Since there's so much of everything, I try to be creative by enhancing old recipes with slight variations. That's what happened with these baked apples. The spices and touch of orange make the flavor just perfect! -Lorraine Chausse Cornwall, Ontario

Tips:
- Choose the right apples: Use firm, tart apples that hold their shape well when baked, such as Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Braeburn.
- Prepare the apples properly: Core the apples and cut them into uniform slices or wedges. You can also peel the apples, but this is not necessary.
- Use a variety of spices: The spices used in the cranberry relish add a delicious flavor to the baked apples. Be sure to use a combination of sweet and savory spices, such as cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
- Don't overcook the apples: Baked apples should be tender, but still hold their shape. Overcooking will make them mushy.
- Serve the apples warm: Baked apples are best served warm, either on their own or with a dollop of whipped cream or ice cream.
Conclusion:
Baked apples with spiced cranberry relish is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. The tartness of the apples pairs perfectly with the sweetness of the cranberry relish, and the spices add a warm and inviting flavor. This dessert is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
