Tips:

  • Choose the right butternut squash: Look for a squash that is heavy for its size, with a deep orange color and smooth, unblemished skin.
  • Roast the butternut squash before making the gratin: This will help to bring out its natural sweetness and flavor.
  • Use a sharp knife to cut the butternut squash: This will help to prevent the squash from becoming stringy.
  • Don't overcrowd the baking dish: The butternut squash should be in a single layer so that it can cook evenly.
  • Bake the gratin until the cheese is golden brown and bubbly: This will ensure that the gratin is cooked through.
  • Let the gratin cool for a few minutes before serving: This will help to prevent it from falling apart.

Conclusion:

Baked Butternut Squash and Parmesan Cheese Gratin is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a fall or winter meal. The combination of roasted butternut squash, creamy Parmesan cheese, and crispy bread crumbs is sure to please everyone at the table. This gratin can be served as a side dish or as a main course.
